Before Civil War blood was spilled, St. Paul's newspapers fought a war in ink

Early one summer morning 150 years ago, families packed the streets of St. Paul. They'd come on horse, buggy, boat and foot to watch the First Regiment of Minnesota - the first unit in the country committed to the Union - leave to wage war against the South.
