Navy Seaman Aaron D. Ullom, 20, of Midland was killed July 12 while on foot patrol as a hospital corpsman with a Marine unit in Afghanistan's Hemand province. He was part of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
