New American Legion post named for fallen native sons

A new American Legion post has been officially chartered in New Bern, bearing the names of two deceased war veterans. Whitehurst-Ware American Legion Post 539 has 62 charter members. The veterans were Henry P. Whitehurst and Bobby Ware.
