Sri Lanka: Accountability needed before lasting reconciliation possible - UK

Britain Wednesday welcomed the UN Panel of Experts report on the war crimes in Sri Lankas war and expressed support for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moons decision to commission the study. Calling on Sri Lanka to respond positively to the expert panels report, the UK said accountability for war crimes must be resolved before lasting reconciliation could be achieved in Sri Lanka.
